Amid iPhone 16 Launch, Apple Devices Face Critical Security Warning
Following the release of Apple’s iPhone 16 series, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has raised high-severity warnings for various Apple products, citing potential security vulnerabilities. These flaws could allow hackers to gain unauthorized access to your device, potentially leading to data theft or even control over your device without your knowledge. Apple devices such as iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple TVs, and Watches are reportedly at risk.
The advisory lists iPhones running on versions earlier than iOS 17.7 and iOS 18, as well as the latest iPhone 15 models, as particularly vulnerable. Other devices like Mac and Apple Watch also feature on the list, while the iPhone 16 series remains unaffected.
CERT-In has warned that these vulnerabilities could enable hackers to access sensitive information, execute unauthorized actions, and even bypass security protocols. To safeguard your Apple devices, users are advised to update their operating systems, including iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and Safari. Additionally, two-factor authentication and password protection are recommended for enhanced security.
