Undri, 18th December 2022: The residents of Undri village have come together to protest against the exorbitant property tax bills. The demonstration will be held on December 20 at 10 am at Hanuman Mandir Chowk, near the Undri village bus stop.
Undri Gaon Sangharsh Samiti organized the protest. A committee was constituted for the 11 newly merged villages under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits, following which a meeting was held with Pune Municipal Corporation commissioner, Vikram Kumar, to resolve property tax issues. Could Representatives of the Property Tax Department be available on Tuesday and Thursday from 11 am to 2 pm to solve any property tax-related problems?
According to Undri-based member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rajendra Bhintade, the protest is being held by members of all parties.
According to Swati Tackle, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader from Undri, “We recently met former state minister Vijay Shivtare and the PMC decided to set up a committee to look into property tax concerns. Every Tuesday and Thursday between 11 am and 2 pm, residents can use this facility located inside the PMC headquarters.”
